El-Gendi Fortress
El-Gendi Fortress is part of the Tentative list of Egypt in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
El Gendi Fortress is a 12th century fortress built on the orders of Salah El-Din. Located in the Southern Sinai, it protected the pilgrimage route between Cairo and Aqaba. It lies 2150m above sea level.
